I photographed “Marty” last spring at the Tongue River during spring works. He is named after Marty Robbins, “The Strawberry Roan”. As you can see his much better looking but his agility and attitude made him tough! However, through patience and a long of wet blankets, Kye Brandon is turning him into a top notch ranch horse! The Hackamore and crowfoot are a story in themselves. I met Mr Billy Albin a few years ago on a trip to the ranch. He was there helping with the gather and I enjoyed getting to meet and visit with him. For those of you who are not familiar with his work, you need to look him up! He is a very accomplished Rawhide braider. Among other things, he makes beautiful quirts that you will see hanging on many saddles in West Texas! The Hackamore and crowfoot were a work of art I felt the need to share!
