The Red Head

“The Red Head” features a smart little gelding, “Short Stack” aka “King Hawkshaw”, that I photographed in 2019 at spring works on the Tongue River Ranch. He belongs to Jeff Kanady, who had come out to daywork. He was that pretty copper penny color of sorrel and was simply glowing that afternoon in the West Texas sun!

  “Short Stack” is not only a very handy ranch gelding but he also is a very capable rope horse used by Jeff and his son! His talent and great temperament make him a family favorite!
