Day Work

“Day Work” is my newest piece of work! This 9” x 12” colored and pastel pencil piece features a grey gelding packing a Top Horse bit from Sul Ross but he’s dirty and sweaty from a long day on the ranch. The truth is that the long days and wet blankets are what makes them Top Horse on Saturday night! I took pictures of this gelding in 2018 on the Tongue River Ranch.

July Johnson was there day working. July, who had been and now is again, a camp man on the Tongue River Ranch, knows about the long hard days and the Saturday night wins. May we all be willing find the things in life that are worth it and then be willing to put in the work that earn the wins!
